About the house

The house is really a house and two barns, but one of the barns has become part of the house. Every room has oak beams and original features.

On the ground floor there is a very large open plan living/dining/kitchen with a wood-burning stove. The other feature is an old curving staircase in the corner of the room. Through a wooden door at the rear of the house is a new bathroom, scullery and toilet.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms. A large walk-in shower is in the upstairs bathroom which also had a toilet.

Outside, at the rear of the house is a secluded 26’ x 9’ garden on two levels with stone steps in between. The barn can be accessed from the garden.

All year round: The house is comfortable at any time of the year. When it is hot the shutters can be closed in the morning to keep the house cool and there are fans in all the bedrooms. Logs can be supplied in the winter for the wood burning stove, and there are oil-fired convector radiators in the bedrooms. There are fan heaters in both bathrooms.

The village has good parking at both ends of the street.
